Older notes from a Beer52 package: enjoyed it - really dark bour with a decent head. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, a hint of toffee and toasted malt. Similar for the taste. Not very carbonated which made it easy to drink.

Pours dark black with only a small head. Very rich aroma: dark bread, dark chocolate, dried fruit - you definitely get the whisky . Taste is complex and enjoyable: bread, rye, oak/wood, a hint of smoke, dry fruits. Long finish, take time to enjoy it, nothing to be had on the go.

Can online from Ocado. Pours jet black with a large thick creamy beige head. Faint aromas of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and liquorice. Taste has big notes of roasted malts, milk chocolate, coffee and some sweet brown sugar. This is a lot sweeter than i was expecting but still has a nice balance between the sweet and roasty notes. Thin to medium body, very low carbonation and smooth oily mouthfeel. it’s pretty good but i was still expecting something a bit extra given the hype around this beer.

11.2 oz bottle purchased locally for a high price. Wish it had a price sticker before I took it to check out. A very large amount. This better be good. Lifting into a snifter from a TX brewery, it's going well. A solid dark mahogany brown body and no head I can determine. Rich aromatics, Dark fruit, grain and is that tobacco? I take a drink and, oh well. Yes, I taste tobacco, maybe it is the scotch, paper, a little herbal and grain. Did I ever go in the wrong way with this, I'm surprised.

Black with a medium sized foamy tan head that faded and left good lacing. Anise, smoke, red wine, wood, coffee, and a hint of cocoa. Very long finish. Moderately full bodied.

Can from local Home Bargains store. Pours a golden yellow with minimal white head. Stone fruits in the aroma, with traces of malt. Initially sweet and juicy in the mouth with metallic undertones before old school hops kick in. Texture is rather watery with lack of body (as might be expected from the ABV). Other than that however, it’s pretty impressive.
