Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Dull auburn colour with a yellowy-beige head. Nutty toffee with floral hints but it's all a bit lifeless and dull. Needs something to liven it up a bit. Not great.

Hand pulled third of a pint in The Moon Under Water, (A Spoons in Hounslow) on 7th March 2025. Nice looked beer, clean and clear amber with a creamy topping. Floral nose with a slight citrus leaning in both the aroma and taste, hints of sweetness followed by a semi-bitter finish, decent!

Cask at Shrewsbury Hotel, Shrewsbury. Pours dark copper with a small cream head and good lacing. The aroma has a pleasant mix of floral hops, marzipan and caramel. In the mouth it is slightly sweet with a creamy texture and floral hops and malts. Later on there are hints of ginger and toffee. A little bitterness in the dry finish. This is quite decent.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A bright amber pour with a thin white head; grainy aroma; sweet grainy taste with a little caramel; and a surprisingly crisp bitterness to finish.

0.33 l can, thanks to my family for this. Pours jet black with thin, long lasting beige head. Nose is grains, chocolate, moderate coffee and some nuts. In taste there's some chocolate, nuts and grains with a subtle, but detectable hoppy touch at the end. Medium bitterish finish, soft carbo and light, smooth body. An easy-to-drink beer that's full of flavours, good one!

Finish is quite a bit more bitter than i expected, lots of roast and a soft berry sweetness. A pretty big bitter porter with some light berry notes.

Clear gold pour with a small white head. Aroma is quite sweet, and earthy. Lots of sweet wood, subtle fruit and some distinct cherry notes. Viscous mouth feel for a lager, very soft carb. The finish is lightly bitter with alot of sweet wood and earthy hops, with some subtle whiskey notes. An odd beer.

Like the other dubhs, there is a big aroma of oak, and vanilla, but there is a big dufference in the intensity of these flavors compared to the 30 and 40. The roastiness seems more upfront, more like a robust porter. A thick soy aftertaste, and lots of bitter coffee.
