Bottle, at HaandFest. A clear, dark golden colored mead, almost flat, and quite oily. Honey, spices, juniper hints, some heather, sweet gale perhaps, and orange in the aroma. The flavor has a good dash of alcohol, with honey running the show. The same spiced, heathery and juniper-ish elements are present in the flavor, so is the orange. It's full-bodied, warming and oily on the palate, with a lasting finish. A superb mead to enjoy in a comfortable chair, or by the campfire. 170527

Bottle. Slightly cloudy golden body with a small white head. Relatively strong passion fruit aroma with a faint hint of acidic berries. Flavor is pleasant sweet, passion fruit and mild honey balancing against some light acidity. Fine body and smooth aftertaste. Tasty and easy drinkable, a very nice fruit mead.

Bakgården Både & 100218. Golden color with a pinkish head. Aroma is sourness, rhubarb, honey. Flavor is sourness, rhubarb, honey, berries, strawberries, lemon. Wonderful.

200ml draught at Oculus. Clear dark-ruby coloured body. Shiny naked surface. Minimal lacing. Moderate, sweet and dry aroma of berries and honey. Honeyed sweet berries to the taste profile. Warming and sweet ending. Full bodied. Very nice in smaller amount, gets too sweet in the long run. 200ml was more than enough for me. (Oslo 07.02.2018).

Small fizzy shortlasting head, nice clear very light red-orangy color. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish fruity, rhubarb, sour strawberries, paint / thinner, fruit stones, sorrel, hay, minerals. Taste is dry sour-ish fruity, sour strawberries, raw rhubarb, sorrel, fruit stones, hay, hints of citrus acid and grass. Medium bitterness, light and dry sour-ish fruity mouthfeel. Nice, refreshing and dangerously easy drinking.

Tap @ Både &, Kristiansand. Nice, clear golden body with a small pinkish head. Very strong rhubarb aroma with lots of strawberries as well. Flavor is less sweet than a few other mead from Mjøderiet I have sampled. The fruity flavor from rhubarb and strawberries dominates and the sweet honey is almost like playing around in the background. It’s both slightly fruity acidic and honey sweet with the alcohol dangerous well hidden. Feels quite refreshing and tasty for a glass, but I don’t think I could handle another. Nice body and quite high carbonation – actually think the carbonation plays an important role for the freshness here. Another original and fun to taste mead from Mjøderiet.

On tap at Både&. An almost clear, golden colored mead with a little carbonation, but not any head. Strawberry dominates the aroma, with a touch of lemon or rhubard in the back. The flavor is much the same, the strawberrries are too much evident, but at least I like the dryness and tartness. The honey is quite subdued, there's just a touch of it. Long, dry and strawberryish finish. Not my favorite Mjøderiet mead, there's too much strawberry, but it's quite decent anyway. 180127
