Description
Aloha. That’s how most conversations begin here. It’s also how many of them end. But “Aloha” doesn’t just mean hello and goodbye and love and welcome. It means more than a word can express. It’s a feeling. A way of life. “Aloha” is the idea that we are all connected to everyone and everything around us and that true joy is found in respecting this connection. And it’s in this aloha spirit that the Kona Brewing Company was founded back in 1994 by Cameron Healy and his son Spoon Khalsa. They combined their love of Hawaii and its pristine, natural beauty with their fondness for delicious, local brews, and lucky for us, their dream lives on more than 20 years later.
So try a few of them. And join us in our pursuit of aloha.

3 month old bottle A: Poured hard to a short thick head that soon settled to a ring. Crystal clear deep gold body. S: Balanced aroma of sweet cookie dough over tropical fruit hops. T: Some dryness is added to the malt sweetness. Hops are mild and tropical with mango and tart melon or berry. Thin but nice. M: Stiff prickly carbonation, light thin body. Very crushable. O: Tasty enough despite the lack of depth. Very affordable. Not bad.

Can. Light haze on this peachy tinted gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry, gold fine crispness as you would expect from the style. Light malts provide just a modicum of sweetness. That light grapey bitterness in the mid alongside some mild minerallity. The Hibiscus is a nice touch, light floral fruitiness providing a nice contrast to the Brut dryness and bitterness. Add even more Hibiscus and you would get a good take on the 'Rose Wine' thing that was a minor far a couple of years back. Finishes a little smoother and with the Hibiscus getting juicier. Still leaves it's Brut mellow bitterness lingering on. Wait now! This is 8.2% - Jaysus! That hides the abv really well. Sneakily so.

Bottle given to me by my brother in law. Have to say a little pensive about the with Guava Flavoring on the label. What the heck does favoring mean? The beer fairly bland malt, green herbal, with a sturdy guava dominating. A grassy bitterness lingers. They wanted a guava beer, and brewing limitations be damned, they made one - by adding flavor. That's not the way. It's not great, not absolutely horrible either.

12 oz. can purchased at Publix. Pours a hazy gold color with a white head and very good retention. Almost no lacing. Tropical juice aroma. As advertised, juicy orange flavor up front with a pineapple finish. I don't taste the lime. The wheat base beer is secondary. Crisp mouthfeel for a wheat ale. Medium body. Very refreshing and easily repeatable. Really good.

355ml can - Pours a clear golden colour with an average sized mostly lasting foamy white head. Aroma is grainy malt, light fruit and grassy hops. A moderately sweet and bitter taste, sweet malt and pretty ordinary hop flavours. Clean and crisp and forgettable.
