Description
Lagabière was born in November 2012. Brothers Sébastien and Francis Laganière opened the doors of their brewery in the heart of Old St. Jean, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Initially offering only one of their beers and a few beers, the inventory has grown rapidly, offering only locally brewed products. With a capacity of 20 beers in service, the offer is very diversified. Each recipe is original and brewed with extreme rigor. Today, after more than sixty original recipes created, Lagabière also offers a range of imported beers, quality alcohols and a homemade food menu, incorporating as much beer as possible.

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours very hazy pale gold with a white head. Aroma of pineapple, mandarin, grapefruit, mango, some dank catty undertones, juicy and bright. Flavour is semi-sweet, juicy, with lots of mandarin, pineapple and mango, a little weed and leafy vibe too, some light cereals for backing, fading to a citrusy, light dank finish with a touch of bitterness. Light to medium body, a touch thin, average carbonation. Quite a nice tidy fruity dank Citra-ish IPA really, though the second can I bought was a bit weak (new batch or old?).

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours deep cola brown with a small dark tan head. Notes of heavy earthy cacao and chocolate, sweet but slightly thin acidic malt base, not particularly burnt but the adjuncts add bitterness, there's a slight mocha vibe but it's not really pastry or imperial. Rather short choco-coffee laden finish, no alcohol. Medium bodied with extremely soft carbonation. Not bad if you don't expect a huge dessert bomb.
