12 ounce bottle from the brewery. Pours a hazy red color with a moderate offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel and banana, with some other fruity notes. Almost like fruit punch. Taste is caramel, cherries, banana and very, very subtle earthy notes. Again, much like fruit punch. Zero bitterness. Thin bodied. Not really very good at all.

12 ounce bottle from the brewery. Pours a dark rust tinted brown color with a medium brown head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, toffee, burnt sugar and a bit of chocolate. Taste is toffee, molasses, nuts, chocolate and a faint nondescript hop bitterness. Thin-medium bodied. Pretty good beer.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub. Pours a mud-like hazy brown color with a thin head. Poor head retention and lacing. Faint malty aroma with some chocolate notes. Taste is sweet and malty with notes of chocolate and oats and a tart finish. Thin-medium bodied.

Sampled on draft at the brewery. Pours a dark brown color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is sweet maraschino cherries and not much else. Taste is also dominated by the same sugary cherries but there is a light roastiness and some bitter hops come through. Medium bodied.

12oz bottle aged since 2002 or so, cracked open and drank July 2009. Seven years and still a nice orangish-white head. Impressive. Brown-amber color, very thick and dark. The aroma is ruthless, hardcore potent cognac. Oh my. Enter devolution. Rich bourbon raisin, sweet and sticky. Sour. Has some mellow carbonation still. If you use your imagination, you might just get a hint of sour cherry in it. Certainly a unique experience. Not a drain pour. Rating only reflects the aged version, so it is certainly unfair.

Bottle Thanks Jake Pours out a dark brown topped with a glaze maple bar head. Aroma was of chocolate and some roast. Tast was more chocolate and tons of sweetness. This one lived up to the lable.

Bottle: Deep brown pour with a modest tan head. Aroma is sweet and chocolate over a light roasted malt base. Plenty of sweet. Tastes chocolatey sweet with light roast and plenty of sugar. It does seemingly have that frosted donut taste! Quite the novelty (I’d been wanting to try thius ever since I learned of it’s existence) and I must thank nimbleprop for sending this my way.

Deep dark coloured brown body with a light tan head. Aroma of malt, a bit of smoke and some caramel. Medium-bodied; Strong malty character with a good sugary taste - not much else in this one though. Aftertaste shows some of the malt and a bit of the sugars, but not too much. Overall, a decent beer - good to try during the fall season. I sampled this beer on draught as a sampler at the Shirlington Oktoberfest in Arlington, Virginia on 07 October 2006.

Pitch black coloured body with a nice tan head, almost 100% opaque. Aroma of - you guessed it - Chocolate Donuts! Such a wierd scent for a beer - but this one is spot on! Full-bodied; Strong sweet taste up front of choolate with a completely describable donut flavour as well. Malt and roasted sugars are also noticable with a bunch of coffee thrown in too. Aftertaste is very sweet and very donut-like. Overall, just like the name says and not really a gimmick-beer, just a good sweet stout that was amazing to try. I’d definitely have this one again if I could find it! I sampled this beer on draught as a sampler at the Shirlington Oktoberfest in Arlington, Virginia on 07 October 2006.

Odd bottle thanks to mar at bu11zeye’s place. Pours with a small, off-white head and a dark brown body. Very wierd beer. Aroma of marmite, yeast, chocolate, and dough. Taste is very wieerd with berries, chocolate and dough. Slightly fizzy.
