Bottle. Aroma is particularly grainy. Pours dark amberish. Small off white head quickly dissipates. Interesting flavor with (apparently) ten different kinds of grains. A little thin, but it has a nice lingering flavor. The bottle says "ale", but it may be something else all together.

Bottle. Heavy flavor, and I mean heavy. Lot of malt flavors, caramel and oats. Aroma was not very pleasant at first, but got better as it warmed up a bit. Nice finish, and could continue to taste it long after finishing.

Bottle. Wasn’t sure what to expect as Scottish Ales are not my speciality. A bit sweet, with a nice roasty flavor with notes of vanilla. I would agree with the previous person rating this as it did remind me of a porter, I’d also agree that the beer had a "young" flavor that I’ve come to expect with other beers there, but honestly it was quite tasty.

Roasted notes in the aroma, with a great chocolate, roasted nut flavor. Other people must have had bum batches, because the beer I had was excellent, and really reminded me of the Chocolate Donut Stout they make. I can only assume that the people rating this higher were the lucky ones that got the really good batches, because I really don’t understand the rating as it stands. I’m just glad I didn’t end up disapointed.

As Pumpkin Ale. Pours hazy amber. Aroma is light spice flavor. Taste is about what you’d expect from a Pumpkin ale, with the spice flavor not overpowering like so many others.

Bottle. Nice hop and spice aroma. Flavor is good, even for an "average" pale ale beer, what it may lack that it makes up for over other beers is that it tasted very fresh, which only added to the finish of the beer. Then again, I love most pale ales.

Fantastic, though I must admit, my expectations were probably just set a bit too high when I tried this beer. I still think this is amazing, a great chocolate flavor, but I was looking to hard for donut, but eventually found it. Very sweet, and I can’t imagine drinking more than one in a sitting, even though I bought the 6 pack.

UPDATE: After having a few more from that 6 pack, I realized that it is even better than I had previously thought, while only one might only be good at a sitting, it’s enough to make this one amazing beer.

ADDITIONAL UPDATE: While I still enjoyed this beer up until its end, I certainly can’t stake the claim that this is one of the best beers out there - it wasn’t. I enjoyed it for what it was, which is enough but I can’t fool myself into thinking that it was one of the best beers I’ve ever had.

Had just a sample glass of this when I was in to bottle my own micro. Poured a deep black with a thin white head. The aroma was sweet with chocolate and malt. I have never had a beer that tasted so much like it’s name. This tastes like chocolate munchkins were thrown in the kettle. Delicious, thick, creamy, sweet, grainy. The only dig on this beer is you might get a little sick of it after 2 or 3 in a row. Great beer though.
