Opaque dark brown beer. Frothy short lived brown head. Sourish malt nose. Crispy palate, a litlle dry. Sourish beer! Quite fruity with mildly sour cherry, raspberry and others amalgamating to a generic fruitiness. Playing a poor second fiddle is a little chocolate malt. Finishes with more sourness. Decent beer but a chocolate donut stout? Really not!

Pours black with a tan head. Nose of icing, funk and chocolate. Taste is chocolate, bread and a funky orange dough.

12oz bottle pours a hazy copper amber with one ring of white head. Aroma smells like bread, heavy yeast, a little metal. Flavor is overly malty, yeasty, sweet. Finish is medium bodied. Nothing distinct about this in the least.

Assuming that this is just another name for the "Drunken Elf Nut Brown Ale" that I had. Probably the best of the 5 beers I was previously had not had in their holiday pack. Nutty, but that kind of artificial but tasty nut flavor that is in most nut brown/holiday beers (not a knock against the beer). Moderate carbonation, small fluffy but dissipating white head. In retrospect I wish that this had been its own six pack when I picked it up.

Certainly not SBC’s best. Bottle opened and poured with little carbonation fizz - not a good sign. Aroma smelled mostly of grains, with little alcohol. I finished the glass I poured, but probably shouldn’t have. Probably contaminated yeast.

Bottle: Poured a dirty deep brown cloudy ale with a super large bubbly head with average retention. Aroma of sour chocolate malt is quite disgusting. Taste is also a disgusting mix between some unrefined roasted malt with lingering sweetness. Body is quite thin with great carbonation which is probably due to the infection. Too bad this was so infected because I kind of was looking forward to the concept. Another one to add tot he re-rate list I guess.

12 oz bottle from dkachur! Thanks! Nose of chocolate, oats, and bready yeast. Black with brown edges and a big tan head. Flavor is sweet milk chocolate and a doughnuty cake. It does tatse like a chocolate doughnut in many ways. I like it!

12 ounce bottle from the brewery, though props to goryskewych who also sent me a bottle that I looked for but can’t find right now. Pours a dark brown color with a thin tan head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of chocolate, butter and something a bit odd. Taste is cocoa powder, caramel, bread and faint fruitiness. Medium bodied. The flavors and aromas are a bit overwhelming and blend very oddly. Weird.

12 ounce bottle from the brewery. Pours a slightly haze orange color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is strongly banana, with some notes of pineapple, other fruits, vanilla and dirty grain. Taste is bread, banana, clove, pineapple. Syrupy finish and seems nearly artificial. Thin-medium bodied. This is a weird one.

12 ounce bottle from the brewery. Pours a hazy amberish brown color with a thin head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma of soap, green apple, toffee and caramel. Taste is caramel, toffee, bitter citrus hops and a berry-like fruity finish. Medium bodied.
