Sample from a bottle at the Day Before Labor Day party. Pours a mostly clear deep orange-amber color with a thick and foamy white head that dissipates slowly. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with a citrusy hops character and notes of sweet caramel malt and fruit. The finish is hoppy with a lingering fruit aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at the brewpub, this is the August selection in Elevator’s "MBA" program. The beer is a clear golden color with a medium foamy ivory colored head that dissipates slowly. Citrus and sweet malt in the nose. Medium to full body with a ripe citrusy character spiked by hops. Some toasted malt in the background as well. The finish is citrusy hops with a lingering bitterness left over. Not really memorable, but above average overall.

On draught at the brewpub, this is the August selection in Elevator’s "PHD" program. The beer is a slightly hazy mahogany-amber color with a medium creamy off-white head that recedes steadily. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Sweet malt and honey in the nose. Medium body with a syrupy sweet caramel malt character made even sweeter with the honey. Touches of fruit offset the sweetness. The finish is sweet with a malt aftertaste. Does not go too far overboard, but it could use some more balance. Slightly above average overall.

On draught at the brewpub, this is the July selection in Elevator’s "PHD" program. The beer pours a clear amber-brown color with a medium thin and foamy beige head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit and malt. Medium body with a medicinal character that is somewhat off-putting. Notes of dark malt and mild yeast as well. The finish is syrupy and fruity. Overall this one is a disappointment.
