Sample at the brewpub, this is the February selection in Elevator’s "PHD" program. The beer is a murky orange color with a thin bone white head that diminishes quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt and ripe fruit. Medium to full body with flavors of sweet malt, toffee and tropical fruit. The finish is sweet and malty with a fruity wheat aftertaste. Above average overall.

On draught at the brewpub, this is the February selection in Elevator’s "MBA" program. The beer pours an opaque brown-back color with a thin and dense beige head that recedes quickly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Roasted coffee and chocolate in the nose. Medium to full body with a slightly creamy mouthfeel and flavors of mocha, roasted malt and hops. The finish is roasty with a lingering coffee bitterness left behind. Solid from start to finish.

Bottle. Medium amber, transparent, smallish head. Aroma is ginger, vanilla, nutmeg, sugar cane and caramel. This seems kinda like a holiday spiced English strong ale. Pretty sweet with a little bit of bitterness in the finish. Sort of a funny aftertaste. Full mouthfeel. Decent holiday ale.

On draught at the brewpub, this is the November selection in Elevator’s "PHD" program. Pours a dark brownish-amber color with a thin off-white head that disappears quickly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet caramel malt and spices along with notes of fruit. Medium body with flavors of malt, ginger, bananas and other sweet fruits. The finish is malty with a sweet aftertaste. Not really what I would expect under this style, but it is a decent beer overall.

Sample at the North Market Columbus Microbrew fest on 09/26/2010: The beer is a clear orange color with a thin and dense off-white head that lasts awhile. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Sweet and sour fruit aroma, with some wheat notes. Medium body with flavors of tart fruit, sweet malt and oak. The finish is fruity with a short oaky aftertaste. I honestly could not have picked out pomegranate had it not been in the name, still an interesting brew due to the barrel aging.
