Can from Westhill Service Station m it pours jet black with a bubbly tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, charred oak, burnt toast, dark chocolate, coffee grounds, umami, warming spice, dried fruits, raisin, glance cherry, fruit cake, jammy dodger and touch of vanilla. The taste is slick, bitter - sweet, rich roasted action, charred oak, umami, plenty of chocolate, vanilla, jammy action, jam wagon wheel, jammy dodger, dried fruits, nice cherry vibes, splash of Dr Pepper, warning spice, damp oak, tannin and a touch of burnt toast.... Finish is chocolate covered cherry and walnut whips. Fulsome body and moderate. Flavourful with great depth. Punches abv it's 6% weight that's for sure. Great stuff.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours hazy orangey - blonde with a decent bubbly white head. The aroma is ripe and juicy, spicy, green, jelly beans, gummy bears, pineapple chunks, apricot, peach and persimmon. The taste is dry, pretty punchy bitterness which lingers, green, weedy, leafy, herbal, spicy, pithy, a touch soapy, zesty, bitter orange peel, grapefruit, splash of campari, pineapple, persimmon, apricot and earthiness with a drying, zesty finish. Medium body and fine+ carbonation. Plenty to it. Flavourful.

The aroma rich roasted malt, thick and filthy, bitter - sweet, dark chocolate torte, jammy berry, bramble, cranberry, Turkish delight, nuttiness, praline, damp oak, sweet red wine and a touch of spice. The taste is dry, rich roasted malt, kick of bitterness, thick maltage, toasty, cacao, nuttiness, touch of coffee, tangy berry, raspberry, bramble, red wine, damp oak and spice with a toasty, fruity finale. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Lovely fruity version of this stout. Fun and very drinkable.

On tap at Brewdog - Reykjavik, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out bready malt, candi sugar, and pastry. Flavour brings out candi sugar, pastry, and bready malt. Sweet but not cloying; lots of pastry notes and candi sugar. Fun but not decadent or complex.

440 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with no head. Aromas of vinous blackberries and slick roasted malts. Flavors of oaky sherry, soy sauce, muted dark chocolate and oily toasted malts. An interesting curry spice finish - though maybe that’s from the glass…

Cans from Cork & Cask. Clear deep golden body with a thin white head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of caramel, autumn leaves, fig and pine. Flavour of toffee apple and resin with a bitter finish. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A solid, old school IPA. Six Degrees North have been putting out some great beers recently.
