Established in 2017
Founded by partners in life and work, Charles Porter and Brenda Crow, Little Beast is a family brewery with a passion for making great beer and sharing it with others.
We craft wild, wood-aged and blended beer naturally with diverse cultures, including Saccharomyces, Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus, and wild flora. By harnessing the little beasts that ferment our beer, we capture their untamed beauty and produce farmhouse beers that are diverse in flavor and rare in character.

Can - this is my last can of the four pack and I’ve kept going back and forth on my opinion of it - it’s definitely an attempt at a Duvel clone, so I’ll give it props for that - the nose pulls this off fairly well - it’s flinty, floral, with some slight honey character and mild peppery phenolics - the alcohol hits a little too hard in the flavor, at times making it lightly medicinal - some nice phenols through the middle - very mild gummy esters - finishes dry and lightly bitter, with some floral touches, but there’s also a lingering alcohol burn on that’s not so pleasant - meh.

375mL bottle, pours a clear copper golden with a tiny white head. Nose is sharp, with lots of pinot gris juice, dusty dry grape skins, and a little oak. Flavour is complex, wild and dry, with a crisp dry grape skin character upfront, wild bugs, a sort of prickly pear skin character, and oak. Dry, biting and complex, with only subtle acidity. This is excellent.

On tap at Portland Craft, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with a nice melange of stone fruits, gentle oak, and a touch of wild yeast. Flavour is loaded with tons of stone fruits, so much juicy nectarine and plum especially, with a little oak, and a touch of wild yeast. Lovely fruit character, tempered by a nice oaky character. Excellent.

On tap at Portland Craft, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Nose brings out gentle smoke, caramel malt, a little roast and a touch of candied cocoa. Flavour is a little drier, with cocoa, a little coffee, just a touch of smoke, and a little candied caramel. Well-rounded, with good depth. Could use more smoke, but this is well-done.

On tap at Portland Craft, pours a clear golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals a sort of washed out hop character upfront, with a touch of lacto and some floral notes. Flavour is unusual, with tart, floral notes upfront and dominating, with subdued hops, and a bright citrus note on the finish. Quite tart and very floral. Unusual style but well-executed.

375 c&c from Corti Bros. Cork removed and strawberry wafts from the bottle. Pours translucent gold with an enduring creamy near/off white head. Aroma is strawberry followed by oak/funk followed by strawberry. Med body or so. Flavor is oak/funk/Brett/lacto. Rather tart. Suddenly I realized there are strawberries too, but the attention getting thing is the little beasties' effluvia. Interesting. Tasty too. (Batch 2 - bottled 0119).
