At Prickly Moses Brewing Co we think it takes all of the above, but we also think it takes something else. We call it Otway magic, but you might know her as Mother Nature. We’re an independent brewery and the home of the Prickly Moses Brewery, Forbidden Fruit Cidery and Redwood Distillery. Some local brands you know and love.

Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 4 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 5
Pours copper with a fading off-white head.Nose shows some darker caramelised malt and faint spicy and earthy hops.Toasty and nutty malt flavours are present, with some grapes in there too. Unfortunately there’s a cidery note in which is quite distracting.Body is very watery, especially for a darker beer.

Pours straw with a small rapidly fading head that somehow manages to look like floating bits of chalk.Aroma fails horribly. Seems to be a mix of cider and cheap white wine with some stale grainy malt in the background. In a partially redeeming note, there are some hints of orange peel and wheat.Flavours are totally dominated by the afore-mentioned stale grainy malt which, again, threatens to overwhelm the subtle wheat and orange peel.Very watery, with no where near enough carbonation.
