Occasionally, I would get the 2L cans when I was a student. I actually wrote quite detailed notes on it (take with grain of salt because they're five years old and more than once this beer has really sucked): soft body hidden beneath the mainstream carbonation, and a buttery, perfumy, fruity, hoppy character, with a grassier, maltier finish, with fruitiness in the end.

Bottled (wacked silver plastic shot bottle). Golden coloured with slight chill haze. papery and yeasty with notes of cellar flavour. Thin, sweet and cloying without a trace of hops.

Slightly skunky aroma Pale Golden, ok head. Taste like cooled pasta water (a bit salt would actually improve it). thin like a wafer thin mint. Now I have an idea how beer-starved my friends visiting Nippon must have been :-)

Optimistic about this all malt pale lager, but the appearance was not very promising, a faded inconsistently pissy gold with a foaming but rapidly fading head. Light hint of herbs and spicy hops in the nose, a touch of buttery malts. Hints at a weakish but true pilsner. Perhaps some DMS vegetal notes skirting the edges of the nose. Pretty bland though, and flattish. Dead on the tongue. Slickly sweet because it really lacks bittering hops, and not much flavoring hops either. Feels like a weak malt liquor in the end.

A golden beer with an OK head. The aroma is very faintly malty. The flavor is slightly malt sweet with a nice bitterness - nice balance. A standard pilsener - OK for a japanese beer.
