From the can it poured a salmon color with a pink-tinged head that brought to mind some kind of grapefruit juice. The aroma is acidic tart raspberries. The light body is very carbonation, seltzer like almost to the point of being aggressive or overcarbonated. The flavor is nice and refreshing tart raspberries, soda bread and acidity. Really impressive for the low ABV but not very beer like, almost like a berry cooler. I had flashes of the carbonated raspberry flavored water I used to drink in college. Refreshing stuff, also very nice for summer.

Can. Lightly opaque pour with virtually no head and a not terribly appetizing aroma of toejam, yoghurt, and bready grapefruit. The taste is much better with the light crackery body giving you tangy grapefruit/citrus, an acidic lactic yoghurt edge and some pale malt notes. Refreshing. One of the rare beers where the taste trumps the aroma. A decent sour.

Jai une impression de kettle sour sucré sans houblon... Il ny a pas de mousse ni deffervescence dans mon verre non plus. Je trouve ce Gruit fort original et très bien fait, sans pour autant être complexe.

Can. This is a Hoppy Sour whose name means Alley Beer so I took a pic of it in the alley in front of my place in Japan. It was much darker colored than I expected, an opaque amber where I was expecting a cloudy gold. A thin head of off-white foam gives off a lactic toejam and sour citrus aroma that is nearing baby sick unfortunate timing on when I opened this can I hope rather than just an amateurish sour. The taste is tart elderberries and some citrus but mostly sweet tarts and yoghut. A strange brew.

Slightly hazy amber and copper coloured body with a thinnish, two centimetre tall off-white head that fades relatively quickly. Aroma of dry funk, grass, herbal hops and a big dose of yeast and almost a sour, lactic note. Light to Medium-bodied; Noticeable hops up front with a very dry, herbal kick showing some funk and grass along with a sour note at the end that tastes like brett or some spontaneous fermentation and a big yeast strain. Aftertaste shows the funkiness up front and centre with a little malt backbone and a noticeable hop flavour from the grassy and very dry hops. Overall, an interesting and funky beer with a decidedly hop-forward profile that steers toward dry and herbal notes, but also shows a tart and sour flavour at the very end - interesting and complex for sure - doesn’t really hit ’the style’, but shows fairly nicely and is worth trying for something different out there! I sampled this twelve ounce can (355 mL) at Au Coin Duluth in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 18-September-2016 for CA$3,49 sampled at home in Washington on 31-March-2017.
