Pretty good apple forward flavors, don't get too many Belgian ester notes but there are nice complex notes on the nose and finish to separate it from pure apple juice.

Capped 500 from Tavour. Pours clear bright but somewhat dark cherry red. Aroma of light pedio and some apple. Near med body. It's quite tart and there's a strong flavor of black currant. Very dry. Wood astringency makes it seem bitter. Otherwise pedio with a little Brett. Very approachable.

Bottle from CBC in Dallas. 1023 stamp. Lo-ball back at the lodge. Clear cranberry juice pour, quick soda sizzle. Smell is floral sweet, mellow cranberry & dry grape. Obvious sweet & tart cranberry over a mellow sweet & pithy cider base. A touch of cherry/hibiscus, tea tannins & mild grassiness. Strong sharpness, low carbonation, a bit too sweet. Okay+.

Slightly hazy, pale. Fruity, lots of hop to blend with bright apple. The hops go well here, just enough residual sugar and the hop is nicely fruity.

750ml Bottle from Press. Mojito glass @home. Pale gold, mostly clear, weak head. Earthy, yeasty, yogurty, tomato, all hay & sock sweet funk. Phenolic, round, light barnyard, hay, ginger floral, super astringent, thin & bittersweet, earthy, oddly lacto, tart finish. Dry. Crisp. Sparkling. Indifferent abv. Good.

375ml cork & cage from Press. Explosive release, but not much bottle of a bottle bomb; very little spillage. Clear, active, big head, medium, oily gold, subtle lace. Bittersweet, astringent, green, herbal-sweet, leaning dry. Bittersweet apples, super earthy, astringent apple skin, celery, taught & damn leathery, daunting dryness that leaves your mouth raw & numb. Slow consumption, demands food. Good but major points lost for being exhausting.

Bottle from pressthenpress. Batch 1020. Label notes say this is aged in rye whiskey. Goblet @home. Dusty, but clear, mellow gold pour. Nose is acrid, buttery, sharply boozy, with sweet vinegar. Taste is fresh & floral bittersweet juice, lingering herbal, sharp middle, peppery, lime, very mellow wood, with a strong plastic & vinegar back-end like it's just starting to turn. Sizzling soda carbonation, more like semi-sweet, thin turning creamy once it bottoms out, boozy enough. Okay.

Bottle from Kool Kegs. Lo-ball back at the hotel just before checkout. Clear, half-fizzy, cherry cola sort of color that's basically maroon on brown. Sweet n sour, vinous currant & boxed apple juice nose. Bittersweet currant, lemon tart, acidic apple core, long tannic earthy finish, with some brightness right at the end. Way better than I thought it would be.

On tap at Schilling Cider House - Seattle, pours a mostly clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma has wild yeast, light bramble berry pie, and some oak. Flavour is complex, with lots of wild yeast, bramble berry, and oak. Nice funk and berry character on the finish. Very nicely done.

Bottle. Translucent yellow gold color that is crystal clear. No head. The aroma is mild and subtle with light pears and apples. The taste mirrors the aroma--pears and apples. Semi sweet/semi dry. Palate is light but not watery, carbonation is prickly. paired superbly with some smoked Wisconsin gouda. Overall: decent treat on a Sunday morning.
