The aroma is simple malty with notes of straws. The color is clear yellow and it has a fine head. The flavor is very simple malty. An average pilsener - definatly OK for coming from a hot country. I can't say anything bad about this beer - just nothing good either.

I would drink this beer if I was on safari in Africa, but not otherwise. And what is up with the label/name? Is this the preferred beer of poachers everywhere? Light and clear gold color with a medium thin white head. No lacing and mild effervescence. Weak grass and hops aroma with a hint of skunk. Light bodied and highly carbonated, the flavor is very mild and unremarkable. Crisp finish with a watery aftertaste.

I would venture to call this an American Standard type lager, and to boot: its the best American Standard I've ever had. Almost (almost) redeems the style. Med straw color with large foaming head, fading somewhat quickly. Weak floral and grassy aromas, with a tinge of soft malt. Nothing much upfront, bracing bitterness is first taste, apparent in the finish. Light body, but not overly watery or bland, but dangerously close. Nicely clean and drinkable. Quite surprised - I had no urge to dump it.

This used to be the old "local" Tusker, but now this is what they are sending overseas. Not sure what happend to the old "green & gold" export version. But anyway, another new beer so here it goes: pale gold colour; grainy, grassy aroma; starts malty, quickly shows a dash of grassy hop; finishes both sweet and cidery (from using sugar as an adjunct I would guess). One of those beers you've got to serve ICE cold.

Golden coloured. terrible smell of glue. Light bodied. Probably a bad bottle, but the glue aroma was just too overwhelming. I couldn't drink it.

Pleasant enough macrobrew. Probably not as good as Mamba or Casablanca for the African lager championship, but has a decent malt note and grassy hops.
