Carbonation moyenne-faible.

Aroma: Meat, spices and lavender. Appearance: Hazy dark straw color, frothy small head, mostly lasting with no lacing. Taste: Attack is sparkling with a slight acidity. Notes of flowers and herbs and a lot of lavender. Little acid but refreshing.

Bottle via a trade with tom10101. Epic gusher! Pours with a hazed amber-brown hued body (slightly muddy clarity) with a small (when it settles) tan head. Aromas are of huge malt, floral, red wine. Nice esters, oak and vanillin. Tart, nice brett complexity, leathery and fruity. Flavors are tart, fruity, clay/earthy, plum, red apple, medium wood, floral, acidic with light tangerine qualities. Lots of vinous red wine notes. Lively bubbles, medium dry with a medium body. Good!

I had tasted this beer in January 2010 and it was time for a retaste. Aromas are not sticking out much; we can feel a bit of malty notes as long as a bit of flowers, herbs and pepper; but they are very hard to dig out. Appearance: medium golden color, a bit hazy, the head is creamy with good lacing and average lasting. Flavors like thyme, rosemary, pepper, hebs, hay and spices can be found but very moderately. We can also feel a slight acidic base through all tasting process.Finish is moderate bitterness and light acidic with average duration. Although alcohol is 9%, the feel is moderate. If I compare with the bottle I tasted in 2010, it is indeed decreesed in flavors and aromas. At that time they were exceptionnally sticking out. What happenned, I dont know.

Bottle: Poured a black color porter with a large foamy head with great retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of light smoke notes with light roasted malt and a subtle hint of lactose. Taste is a mix between some smoked notes which are not as dominant as I had expected with some roasted malt and some light sweet undertones. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well made though personally I would have liked more smoked character to come out.

Aroma is very spicy with notes of ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. Very strong and complex aromas. Very generous head with with nice lacing. Average lasting. Color is amber and hazy. (Non filtered beer). Spicy flavors all over: again ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. Also citrus notes and sugar cane. It realy taste like a Chrismas fruit cake. Interesting beer, very spicy.

Quebec and English malts smoked with maple wood. Aromas are very smokey with a touch of caramel. Wood accents are also presents. Dark black, very opaque with an extremely generous head that last very long. Flavors are mostly wood, smoke and caramel. We can feel malt bitterness finish with a bit of coffee. Not my favorite kind of beer but it’s worth to try it for those who like smoked beers. The aromas are wonderful.

Light smoke on the nose but the malts are muddled. Toasty campfire taste is unique, with light cocoa character. Interesting take on the style, using maple.

Hazy blond, thin head. The aroma has a lot of lavender and some wheat, and yeastiness too. Spicy and with lots of lavender on the palate. Good balance and fresh-tasting.

Bouteille 500ml.
