500ml bottle @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, March 16, courtesy of Blackhaddock. Pours dark, off white head. Good chocolatey porter character, not too dissimilar to Fullers London Porter. My kind of porter. Delicious.

500ml bottle at the March 2016 Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting: split between five. Decent Porter with enough flavour and depth to spare. Usual Porter look, black with a tanned topping, usual Porter aroma and taste of over roasted malts with a semi-bitter overtone: this just had those attributes in buckets.

500ml bottle conditioned, at home on 6th March 2016: poured slowly into a UK pint sleeve (8 Sail Brewery, tall design). Good looking beer, true amber coloured body with a beige topping. Nice blend of hop and malts, each taking centre stage in turn within both the aroma and taste. Liked it.

Pigs Ear Day 1. Cask. Clear amber - brown beer, thin pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry. Modest carbonation. Nice ginger biscuits with some citric peel and candied fruits. Touch of Stollen cake. Light finish. One of the better Christmas nonsense beers on offer today.

Pigs Ear Day 1. Cask. Clear deep amber, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth. Mild fine carbonation. Tangy but light malts, thin cream. Mild bourbon soaked fruits. Mild vanilla. Ripe fruits. Pinch of spice. Light finish. Pretty tidy. Beers don’t have to be huge go have a nice bourbon touch.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is fresh, toasty, juicy, floral and lemon parfait. The taste is soft, toasty, earthy, woody, floral, grainy, grassy, spice and some straw with a dry, lightly spiced finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Respectable golden ale.
