Can. Bright amber with a white head that fades to a cm. Less than vibrant (for Epic) herbal citrus aroma with some berries and the surprising coconut. Some bready malt but it's not very sweet and the finish is dry and moderately bitter. There's a Sth E Asian dessert element to the taste with tropical fruit (lychee, guava) and coconut before more familiar citrus flavours reassert themselves. Tasty as well as interesting and accomplished. Shows off this interesting new hop to advantage.

Tap at GABS 19. Amber with a white head. Lolly like sweet with kumquat boiled orange some resin that builds towards the quite bitter finish. Brut?? Thought this was fine but didn't offer enough for its strength - not that you'd guess it's quite as strong.

Can. Clear pale orange with a cm of white head that never quite disappears. Ripe pineapple aroma with mandarin, some grapefruit and mango. Light bodied, highish carbonation. Some hay and a touch of biscuit but really all about the hops. Very fruity with lots of pineapple and some other tropical fruit. Citrus helps tame any tendency towards fruit cup. Finish is dry and as much resinous as bitter.

500ml bottle, at the Beer Jerk Bunker bottle share, thanks to me. Soft red fruit, strong caramel, cherry, plum, raspberry, liquorice, figs, chocolate. Good full body. Wonderful.

330ml can. Pours bright orange. Guava, papaya, coconut, fresh mint, bit of toffee and biscuit, bit of coconut cream and a touch of pepper. Good body. Very tasty, and a bit out of the ordinary for Epic.

Can. Orange with a white head. Aroma of tinned tropical fruit cup (mango, mandarin, pineapple), some crackery and herbal notes. 7- Light bodied - really rather empty in the middle. 3- Fruity but not much else with moderate bitterness. OK but not a standout for Epic.

On tap at The Catfish in Melbourne. Brown sugar and treacle nose. Deep black with minimal head. Oily mouthfeel. Fantastically balanced. Punchy burnt treacle, caramel, little bit of biscuit and coffee. Warms wonderfully and just stays right side of excessive booziness.

(Bottle) Hazy amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, orange peel, mandarin, caramel, resin, apricots, lychee, toffee, honey and tropical fruit. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, orange peel, apricot marmalade, caramel, toffee, tropical fruit, resin and a generous citric/resiny bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. Really well made and tasty DIPA with impressive amounts of citric/resiny hops and malt to back it up. Excellent beer!
