Poured up on tap at the 2014 Papago Hopageddon event where it exhibits a clear copper body that has a thin gold edge and supporting a near white head. The aroma pulses with straight up sweet candied citrus, mango and pineapple and sweetened a bit further by some maltiness. The taste delivers fruity sweet candy like citrus hops as well as pineapple and mango mixed with passion fruit. This has plenty of hop flavor and malt sweetness that team up together to temper what fruity bitter hops are there.

Bottle, Boise imperial stout tasting via JohnGalt1 – thanks Toby! Pours a deep dark brown with a small ring of beige head. Pleasant aroma of heavy roast, cocoa, espresso, and a light bourbon barrel presence. Smooth and silky, well rounded layer of flavors. Especially the silky chocolate. Moderate roast, minimal bitters as the bourbon barrel sweetness swirls through the glass. Some vanilla. Very good.

750ml bottle thanks to Toby. Pours out pitch black with a small head. Nose is metalic roast malts chocolate coffee vanilla. Taste is more of the roast malts some nice vanilla milk chocolate.

On tap at Chuck's, pours black with a very small tan head. Nose brings out huge notes of bourbon upfront, followed by vanilla and cocoa. Flavour is all bourbon and booze upfront, with a huge amount of heat and bourbon, with secondary notes of vanilla and cocoa. Way too boozy and bourbony but it works in small amounts. Very good for what it is.

Pint bottle purchased at Applejack in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Bottled on 12.18.14 printed on label. The pour is slight chill haze golden yellow with a small foamy white head. The aroma is bready malt along with floral earth hop. The taste is the bready malt, mild fruit sweetness, and finishes with the floral, softly mineral hop. The flavors all linger a bit long. The palate is light to medium bodied, with soft natural carbonation and the the somewhat long muddled finish. Decent.

750ml bottle shared at tasting. Filtered tan-orange. Not much of a head, white edges. Delicate body lets the hops shine. Mellow tropical hoppiness, coupled with some nice chinook pine/ Really pleasant to drink, remarkably clean. Some oily hop tones. Really well done.

Beer #2 of 13 in blind tasting.
This was the first of two beers that did not belong in the tasting. That explains why my short notes included "double-brown?". Otherwise, I get a little bit of Hershey chocolate. I did not get anything related to Horchata or spices.
Despite not belong in the aggregate it fell right at average.

Nothin’ better than a 750 of barelywine. The caged and corked bottle pours with a clear rutty red amber colored body that supports a nice tan head. The modest aroma offers up musty molasses covered grapes, prunes, raisins and some cherries along with a bit of booze and figs. The taste starts smooth with sweet malts and molasses and then it quickly gets into prunes, brown sugar and raisins. Some mild nectar sweet plums and cherries and molasses ramp up the richness midway and into the finish. As it warms the mouth feel becomes even smoother. Pretty solid for a young barelywine. In a year + this should be dynamite.
