Really boozy at the start, though as you consume the beverage, the citrus notes become very prominent, and a crisp finish. Get fucked up!!!!

Aromaz are resin and both Citrus and tropical fruits. Flavors are a little different starting off more resiny and some fruit in there though I can't put my finger on it and also more bitter transitioning into a little more sweet and some medicinal. Then going into a long bitter finish.

Pitch black coloured body with a thinnish ridiculously deep and dark brown head that starts at perhaps a centimetre and fades down to just about nothing. Aroma of very nice and fragrant spices with star anise and fennelseed the strongest along with pure licorice root, deep chiles (and the head that goes along with them), some canella, a dose of nutmeg and a tiny bit of both coffee (full beans) and vanilla pods. Medium to Full-bodied; Robust deep malty flavour that shows the roasted malts, a lot of coffee and astute bitterness, some deep robust caramelised sugars like molasses and toffee and ending with a ton of the spiced elements - aniseed, canella, nutmeg and a bunch of coffee and chocolate. Aftertaste is deep and pungent with the spices the strongest and showing a good deal of heat, but in a good way, but it makes the vanilla, caramelised sugars and other flavours show through in a nice, smooth, easy-drinking fashion. Overall, a very nice and incredibly pungent, full-flavoured and especially complex beer that showcases tthe spices and what it can bring to a beer, sort of like a mole to a simple 'sauce'. Great to sample, especially at the price point and well worth trying when you can find it. I believe I have some of this stuff aged for a long time, and will be happy to try this when it is a touch older, but even 'fresh' it was still fairly smooth and nice to sample. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Mac's Beer and Wine in Atlanta, Georgia on 26-May-2018 for US$2,99 sampled in my hotel room here in Buckhead/Atlanta, Georgia on 29-May-2018. Bottle dated 11/16, drink by 11/18! Poured into a jack lambert shaker and it is big fizzing hazy orangish brown iced tea eye. Big foaming head immediately dissapears. Not looking forward to tasting this veggie spice high alky thing. Chunks of yeast on the bottom of the bottle. Nose is that of a tart brew. Taste is slight fruit at first then the alky medicine immediately kicks in, makes me shiver. Not sure if I can drink the whole bottle. Yes, strong beer with alky and fruit concoction, whew, way too much for my lager lovin buds. Rather decent carbonation for a high ABV beer makes it almost palatable. I just hope the alky mows over my senses soon so I don't have to suffer so much thru this session. Cannot appreciate this fruit & spice beer. What on earth is this mess? Not a good overall ratebeer experience JMHO.

Bottle from vintage $2. Mellow aroma, like its gonna be a little tart or taste like a berliner. Pale yellow. Fresh easy taste, quite better than expected but its no berliner, its a berliner wannah bee. If it is a lighter belgian, its got a little bit of a processed feel about it. Quite civilized overall and personally I think its a lot better than that merry monks they make. Overall, not bad, pleasantly surprised. Yes, most likely something between a berliner and a five civilized belgian.

355 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Jørpeland. ABV is 11.1%. Clear reddish brown colour, head goes from minimal to none. Aroma of malts, caramel, dark dried fruits, some vinous and oaky notes. The flavour is medium sweet, with the same elements as the aroma, moderate hops.

12 oz bottle from Tavour. Nose is vanilla, light bourbon, roast coffee, and chocolate. Black with a medium, lightly lacing, cinnamon tan head. Flavor is lightly sweet, light bourbon, and coffee with vanilla creamer. Nice, my kind of beer!.
