First brewed 10th April 2010. A 2½BBL plant is used.

Llangollen Brewery has been one of North Wales’ best-kept secrets - until now. Our small but perfectly formed brewery began ten years ago when our Master Brewer, brewed the first-ever batch of Llangollen ales and sold our beers exclusively in his pubs.

He honed his craft, working hard to perfect the brewing alchemy that makes our beers so satisfying and unique. We have always crafted our classic and distinctive beers with care and precision and that hard work has paid off.

Old notes from Nov 2014 - Brought from the brewery on my Welsh road trip earlier this year. Pours a very black colour with a small brown head that diminishes quite quickly. Aroma of power full roasted chocolate with a taste of chocolate, with a hint of caramel coming through the more you drink. Overall a unusual brew, as you don't come across many black bitters. I enjoyed it but would pass on a second bottle.

Old rating from 08-01-15 - 500ml bottle from the brewery on my Wales road trip. Poured at home in Jersey, it's dark amber with a white head. Aromas & tastes of citrus, fruits, flora, biscuit & sweet malt. Light to medium body. Medium bitter finish. Enjoyable

Shared with Dan and Grumbo. Aroma is of caramel, banana and wheaty. Taste of candied fruit and wheat. Not one of my favourites of the day.

Shared with Dan and Grumbo. Aroma is floral, woody and of sherbet. Taste is sour, dry and the sherbet taste is coming through. not sure if this was the intention but I enjoyed it.

500ml bottle shared with Eric in Coton Hill. Pours a misty golden yellow, large white head. Pale malt aroma. A touch lagery to taste with moderate to low grassy hops and a medium bitterness.. refreshing enough, but quite a mild flavour profile.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear gold with large white head. Expected it to have an amber colour to match the beer on the label. Quite a satisfying first sip, bringing an appealing sweetness, soft pale malt with soft floral hints, nice hop presence. Took me a bit by surprise how nice this is. Would also probably peg it in the blonde ale camp.
