ADTWD team tasting in sunny Halzlemere. Near clear deep amber brown beer, small tan head lasts no time at all. A pretty light palate all told, semi dry, good fine carbonation. Rich toffee malts, rich but light bodied, a little malt cream. Whisper of oak induced vanilla. The barrelling brings rich but bright bourbon. Airy finish leaves a fair dose of alcohol spice but really not much heat. A grown ups barleywine.

375mL bottle drunk 7/31/25.
Clear, brassy-golden. Large, white head, slowly to cover.
Nose shows coriander, grass, black pepper and softer esters. No clove, no bubble gum, no banana, no cotton candy. Lots of honey, light table sugar, mild Belgian yeast. What I'm not getting is much of any foeder. Maybe a touch of tannin/toast/mild wood. But it's clean, not boozey, nicely-attenuated.
Soft, a bit of bread/crust, with mild coriander-like spice (could just be phenol). Not crude, not that I'd expect that from Gabe. Good attenuation and body with a touch of honey-like malt at points. Soft and very flavorful, nothing off or unwanted. Lingering spice/herb. Just a touch of powdered sugar, otherwise top-notch stuff.

375 ml bottle. Thank you Clarkvv for the share. Aroma is bold oak, vanilla, intense bourbon. Based on the aroma I would have thought that this was going to be entirely too much bourbon. Well, the bourbon is very warming all the way down the esophagus. Yet, alcohol flavor is not here. Bold bourbon, brandy, oak. Wow!!

Bottle shared by ClarkVV--thanks, Clark! Opaque, inky black with nice viscosity. Aroma is bourbon over dark fruit, caramel, spice. Taste is strong dark fruit, bourbon (with heat), spice, dark sugar. Thick texture, full bodied, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Bourbon is a bit too prominent along with heat and hard to find specific flavors but maybe I have some palate fatigue after 15+ barleywines/stouts in the last 24 hours.

375mL bottle drunk 7/26/25.
Clear, dark. Garnet and dark mahogany. Tan head to ring quickly.
Burnt toffee, vanilla, rich raisin and milk chocolate. Oaky, but not hot or too oaky. Fruity and spicy with lingering toffee and such. I'm not getting any booze though it's peppery and the strength is certainly sensed.
Wow, that's a wild ride. Big, spicy, peppery, acidic, strong, intense, rich, etc....It's definitely mega-flavorful with some strong barrel and a bit of heat on the very end, though it's not raw or sharp. Cherry, vanilla, dried fudge and a sticky, rich texture with pretty good attenuation. I gotta tell ya, this doesn't seem too much in any one area. There's a shit ton of barrel strength, but it's lovely. Seems to have attenuated very nicely.
