Batch #1, Jan/2012 - Pours yellow with a bubbly head. Aroma of bretta, spices, yeast, malts and fruity hops. Taste of tart fruits, strong bretta notes, yeast, farmhouse notes and malts. Finish is bitter and hoppy with some tartness, yeasty farmhouse notes, fruits and grass. Okay, quite funky for an IPA, more like a saison/wild ale. 8-4-8-3-15 = 3.8

Re-rated on 5.5.2013. Tap @ Mikkeller Bar. Fresh and hoppy with loads of exotic fruits and a touch of bretta and wood. Bretta is quite subtle on this one. Excellent stuff, much better fresh.

Bottle from bierkompass.de. Hazy light golden color with huge white head towering over my glass. Aroma of yeast, bread, citrus. clementines. Taste, dry fruity with ripe cumquats, oranges and grapefruit, citrus hops, citrus zest. Nice long citrus bitter finish. Nice stuff.

Bottle at THE Sour and Saison Tasting, London. This bottle came from me. Pours hazy, rich gold with a fine, white cream head. Big brett nose with hints of alcohol. Medium to big sweet flavor with dirty brett, some toasty sugars, light berries, dirty socks. Medium to full bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with sturdy brett character, sweaty socks, faint herbs, light bitter grass. On the ’strong’ end of the saison scale, for sure, but it’s still great stuff with the brett providing a bright, airy funk that cuts into the alcohol nicely.

Bottle thanks to Leighton at THE sours & saisons tasting (part 1). It pours cloudy deep orange-amber, with a gigantic off-white head. The nose is spice, dough, Irn Bru, underlying sweetness, brett, wood and tangy fruit. The taste is spice, tangy citrus, juicy fruit, orange marmalade, brett, vinous, wood, earth, mustiness and Irn Bru, with a dry, fruity finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and velvety mouth-feel. Well balanced and pretty damn delicious.

Bottle. Pours hazy medium yellow with a large creamy white head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is very Bretty, with notes of citrus, funk, cheese, white wine. Flavor is medium sweet, quite funky/cheesy with a touch or coriander. Light bitterness lasting into the finish. Definitely more on the Brett than the IPA side of things. Medium body, very carbonated - too carbonated - but otherwise a great beer.

Bottle. Pours cloudy lemon juice amber with a medium to large white somewhat fizzy head, slowly dissipating with ok lacing. Aroma is quite strong grapefruit, wood, yeast, touch of passionfruit. Flavor is much the same, medium sweet and quite fruity in the mouth. Strong bitterness coming through to the dry bitter somewhat spicy finish. This is a very nice beer.

750 ml bottle bought @ Bierkompass.de. Plura hazy and cloudy pale golden with a huge frothy white head that slowly dissipates without leaving much lacing or trace on the glass. Smell is tiny sweet, fruity, spicy and funky with crackers, plums, dry soil, white grapes, passion fruit, incense, flowery perfume, lychee, cilantro, rose water, pink grapefruit juice, cloves, barnyard, hints of allspice and very subtle hints of rubber. Taste is bitter, dry, fruity, phenolic and spicy with crackers, dry soil, cloves, pink grapefruit juice, lychee, very ripe gooseberries, passion fruit, dark grapes, wood, barnyard, pineapple, barnyard, grapefruit rinds, white grapes, dry wood, dried apricots, allspice, hay and hints of rubber. Mouthfeel is crisp, dry, very tiny round, very tiny tart, sparkling and light to medium bodied. Finish is bitter, dry and fruity with pink grapefruit juice, passion fruit, dry soil, hay, cloves, allspice, dried apricots, lemon zest, pineapple, dry wood, white grapes, white pepper, allspice, rubber and barnyard. Fuck me, Anchorage did it again! Perfection!
