Description

Dark yellow colour with lasting head, light haze and a lot of chunks. Quite a strong aroma with lots of floral citrus notes like a bunch of lemon trees. Nice level of bitterness. Very floral too. Great flavour profile. Lose the chunks and it's one of the best IPA's from Belgium.

Clear golden colour with lasting stable head. Aroma has malt sweetness but also a herbal note like a hair removing cream. Otherwise a Tripel by numbers, not bad, not great.

Clear blond yellow beer, small creamy white head, little stable, adhesive. Aroma: spicy, coriander, sweet impression, floral, bit spicy. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sourish, spicy, coriander, soapy, bit herbal, meh. Aftertaste: soapy bitterness, coriander, don’t like it very much… Definitely not barrel aged, like the name and label would imply (“Vatje” means small barrel, and the label shows a guy holding up a wooden barrel…).

Clear to little cloudy orange beer, small creamy off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: upon opening there’s quite some sulphur present, then after a while I’m getting more citrus notes, grapefruit and even some tropical fruits. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: some sweet malts up front, followed by bitter hoppy citrus notes. Aftertaste: turns into bitter grapefruit, lemon grassy, very dry and bitter citrus finish. Not bad, not a great IPA either. At least it’s nice and bitter, but could have some more aroma to it.

Aftertaste: banana, yeasty, phenols, bitter finish, hoppy, herbal, not too bad!
