18/12/2011 75cl bottle @ home - bottle from Kerstbierfestival (Essen) - BB: n/a (2011-718)
Clear amber to copper red beer, small white head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: when cold some chemical aroma, like paint, disinfectant. On warming up: sweet caramel, alcohol, fruity hops, bit dusty. So don't serve too cold! MF: low carbon, full body. Taste: sweet alcoholic, bitter hops, some caramel, fruity, grapefruit, other fruits, peaches, bit sugary, raisins. Aftertaste: bitter hops, citrus peel, little sweet. Feels a bit like a barley wine.

Small yellow-beige head over hazed chestnut-coloured beer. Meaty & spicy aromas vying for domination. Bit (dark)bready notes in the finish; sweetish, bit like a German dunkler Bock. Fresh bready-spicy notes in the taste. Sweet-bitterness, but with a tinge of (CO²?) acidity. Nutty, certainly warming up. Spices are present, but nowhere imposing - excellent balance. Warming, some alcohol; medium to well-bodied; medium to well-carbonated. 2 years old, but still going strong! Congrats for this effort, and many thanks to Stef!

As Den Triest Kriek
Clear red body. Pink, creamy head. Aroma of cherries: lightly sour - sourness clearly from the sour cherries and not a lambic style sourness. Quite nice and well drinkable.
