Established in 2011

30 August 2025. At 7de Bier van Olier (Sijsele). Cheers to Anke, mom & dad!
Weak vegetable aroma, bell peppers, yellow cherry tomato, crackers. Dry, restrainedly sweetish taste of apple, unripe pear, tomato. Dry grassy hops, cracker. Lively carbonation. I don't really get the intention here, as the base beer is too weak to even begin supporting an adjunct umami flavour, within a very fizzy mouthfeel. Feels a bit like old-school Gaverhopke. I do appreciate the willingness to experiment, but I'd say back to basics first.

Rather dense yellow head, stable, over deep garnet, brilliant beer, lacey. Sweet, woody, dried fruit as plums, dates, figs; molasses, fusels, vanilla, condensed sweetened milk, milkchocolate. Sharpish bitter, fruity flavours. Fruit-filled chocolate, vanilla, wood, liquorice, booze. Very thick and viscous, oily despite good carbonation. Alcoholheat. Sweet - maybe just a tad too much liquorice for a top Barley Wine as from the States or the UK. Still, not unmeritory. Txs to Stef!

Bottle via Ward - many thanks!
A: clear yellow, small,, foamy, white head.
A: coriander, wheat, lemon zest, potato, soap.
T: sweetish apple, sourish lemon, soapy coriander.
F: floral hops, spicy coriander, apple, lemon, some warming vodka-like alcohol.
P: medium body, slick texture, average carbonation.
Easily drinkable; bit too soapy as is often the case with Fort Lapin. Congrats (again) to your newborn, Ward, but allow me to crack open a different bottle (obviously bought at Stacks) more to my liking ;-)

Aroma of fruit, citrus, yeast, spice, coriander. Flavour is fruity, yeasty, spicy, light to moderate sweetness. Body is a bit on the thin side. An okay, just average Tripel.
