Description
Põhjala Brewery is the brainchild of three friends and beer aficionados who, like many a future craft brewer, got tired of the tasteless watery lagers that the faceless megacorporations have saturated the beer market with.
We brew small batches of hand crafted ales, using the best malts, loads of mostly New World hops and a relentless passion for good beer. When creating our beers, we are inspired by Nordic nature, Estonian new cuisine and the work of our fellow microbrewers in the U.S., UK and Scandinavia who, in our opinion, are leading the craft beer revolution.
In hops we trust!

Bottle shared by Joen. Dark brown to black color, average sized light to medium brown colored head. Aroma and flavor are malts, soft roast, roasty bitter, bitter finish that lingers. Quite solid, but I dont really get the maple that clearly tbh. Oh well, nice beer nonetheless!

33cl bottle from Põhjala Brewery & Tap Room, Tallinn. Pours pitch black with a fairly modest, tanned head. Roasty and somewhat boozy with coconut dominating initially, dark chocolate, dark fruits, whisky and bready notes as well. Smooth, desserty and warming - quite enjoyable.

Can. A quite fruity one, with bubblegum and a spiced hint. Perfumed, lightly flowery. Medium body. Easy drinkable, but a bit too much on the bubblegum side. 646413 260328

Can shared with SVD. Slightly tart, but also slightly weak, not much taste. Too little on the sour as well, not bad though.

Bottle shared with SVD. Raspberries shine through and compliment the porter nicely.
