Bottle(bottled 5/10/10; purchased at Kris Wines): Orangey coloured, hazy, mid-sized off-white head with a good lace, mineralic-yeasty nose with traces of alcohol, died peaches and toasted malt; moderate to solid sweet flavour with a slight bitterness, medium to full bodied, relatively soft; lingering woody and fruity sweet-bitter finish. Pretty good, it needs obviously some time to ripe…

330ml bottle. Pours slightly hazy gold with a medium head. Aroma is buttery biscuits, popcorn, lemon, pineapple and passionfruit. Taste is sweet, with some butter and orange citrus notes.

Cask at the Half Moon, Windlesham, as ’Chobham Ales’ Holly & Ivy, 11/01/14. Lightly obscured chestnut brown with a thin off white head that quickly dissipates to nothing. Nose is bready malts, earthy, light dirt, nutty twang, toffee. Taste comprises dark fruits, bready malts, biscuit notes, earthy, toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finale with light bitter notes. Mediocre bitter.

Bottle from Mouton Rouge Canterbury. Clear gold lasting white head. Lager yeast malt aroma. It’s kinda ok, I can see what they are going for, but just don’t quite make it. Some lemon, some hop on the finish. Still a bit of puke in the flavour. Not terrible, but not exactly good either. But a big gulp and it’s fine.

Curses! Foiled again in an attempt to tick another country. Sad, I know. Any way, this pale lager (4.8% these days) has an orange tinge to the clear golden pour, and the thin white head goes quickly. Aromas of cardboard and cooked vegetables. Taste is kind of sweet, kind of chemically. Not very good.

Bottle at the Mogul, Bagshot, 05/09/13. Listed as 4.8% ABV. Clear golden, slight chill haze, good sized egg shell white head. Nose is pale malts, grass, citrus, light vanilla, touch of caramel. Taste comprises cereals, sugar, light floral notes, touch of citrus, grass. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, a little ott on the fizz factor. Ok as a pale lager I guess.

Cask at the William Webb Ellis (JDW), Twickenham - 09/03/13. Clear pale golden with a thin off white head that retains well. Nose is pale malt, citrus, light floral notes, lemon sherbet, lavendar, touch diacetyl. Taste comprises pale malt, grain, cereals, light citrus, suggestion of hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, smooth on the palate, some bitterness in the finish. Pretty average fayre.
