Description
Andy Hepworth started brewing in Reading almost directly after University. He moved to Horsham in 1980 and within five years became the youngest Head Brewer in the country, winning many awards.
The long-standing tradition of brewing in Horsham came to an abrupt halt in 2000 with the sale of its last brewery and so Andy, determined to maintain that tradition, joined up with the key members of the brewing team in order to create Hepworths, an independent brewery aiming to build its own range of quality brands, while maintaining flexibility for contract work.
In 2016 they relocated to their current site which they co-locate with Goodwood Brewery, Laines Brew Hub and Ridgeway Brewing sharing certain facilities but not brewplants.

A total waste of good money.

Bottle shared at the Craft Beer Co. - Clerkenwell, London Holiday Tasting - one of my contributions. Pours lightly hazy copper-gold with a fine, off-white foam head. Semi-ripe fruit nose, sweet bread. Medium sweet flavor with more bready malts, plum and other ripe fruits. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish, more breadiness, toasty sugars. Drinkable stuff. Good.

Bottle at pre Xmas tasting thanks to Leighton - 21/12/12. Lightly hazed golden with a thin white head. Nose is light booze, dark fruits, orange marmalade, spice. Taste follows with more emphasis on the dark fruits, nutty tones, almond, spice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation - a little over spritzy, bitter dry finish. Ok - nothing special, alcohol is well disguised.

Dość dobre jasne piwo. Szkoda że nie orginalnie produkowane w Bangladeszu. Ale tradycja angielska miała tu pewnie wpływ na smak. Bo to piwo jest zdecydowanie lepsze od innych egzotycznych lagerów

Yet another beer by this brewery where they don’t add their name to the ’credits’. Picked up in ’Rhythm and Booze’ near Blundell Park, Cleethorpes. 330ml bottle: best before 13 Nov 2012, opened during one of my random drinking evenings on 16 Nov 2012, some three days late. The beer was poured into a Duvel glass at home: golden with a slight haze with a fading white head from the start. The beer had a sour feel from the begining, might have been skunked in the fairly bright shop, I’ve only had it a week. Bland and boring, glad I only bought one of them. To be fair it is really just another supermarket brew from Hepworth and should be viewed as such.

Lightly hazy copper orange with a medium white head. Biscuity malts, fruity, and a bit of earthy zing. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. Easy going and quite tasty. Very nice.

500ml bottle at home into an English Pint glass (Jan ’12). Pours very dark brown to black in colour with a good fingers worth of head (which dissipated to a small thin head by the end of drinking). Smells of malt, toffee and a slight coffee finish on the nose. Tastes of sweet malts, caramel, slightly burnt taste on the finish, but no hint of the coffee. Mouthfeel was smooth but slightly watery for my liking.
