Bottle, from historic notes. Source not recorded. Poured slightly hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, moldy fruit and damp. Medium sweetness, odd bitterness. Moderate body, watery texture. Not good. Red card.

Bottle from Bradley Villa Farm Shop, Huddersfield. Dark amber-orange in colour. Has plenty of scrumpy apple aroma and a fair amount in taste, although the latter is dryish and doesn’t linger long.

500ml bottle. Orangey amber gold colour, white foam head that dissipates away and aroma of acetic acid & funky apple. Taste is tangy apple with vinegary leathery woody barnyard funk and drying tannins. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry tart funky finish. Quite OK

Bottle from Bradley Villa Farm Shop, Huddersfield. Burnt amber in colour, it has a strength to it, but it is its dominant sweetness that comes across most, with plenty of rich apple flavour.

500ml bottle from Notcutts Garden Centre Shop, Peterborough. 6.5%. Batch 079. Orangey amber colour, off-white tan foamy head that dissipates away to a thin rim and sour funky woody tangy apple aroma. Taste is sour, tart, tangy apple, fleshy, bittersweet, with some balsamic vinegar, funk, leather, wood, oak and loads of drying tannins. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, low to medium carbonation, dry tart & tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
