The brewhouse consists of three kettles from 1946 and a wort filter from 2014. The kettles are made of red copper and are “hammered” by hand into the existing shapes. The capacity is 3000 kg deposit. In the past, brews of 250 to 300 hl of lager were produced with this. Today we brew 110 hl per brew since the current beers are of a much higher density.

0.75 l bottle from 'Drankgigant.nl', best before December 2027. Clear, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly sourish, quite vinous-fruity aroma of red wine, balsamic vinegar, bitter almond, caramel, oak and sour cherry. Gently sweet, malty, moderately sour, rather vinous-fruity taste of red wine, quite some oak, balsamic vinegar, sour cherry, balsamic vinegar and some caramel, followed by a medium long, moderately tart, gently woody-dry finish. Medium to full body, slightly astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Tasty sour ale, very well-balanced and quite complex. I have given up buying the Indulgence series beers a few years ago but this one was a lot more intriguing than the releases of the recent years, and it didn't disappoint.

Pours a foamy lemon yelloe. Grassy citrus nose. Mildly acidic taste. Pretty well balanced wit.

Wow! I just stumbled on to this, inexplicably, a huge stash is newly arrived at my local supermarket across the street. Pours very dark brown black w/some head and some lacing. Aroma is strong, taste is strong and malty, some sweet & fruit tastes, I guess the alcohol is noticeable though I really don’t mind. Surprisingly good! Buying decent beer from regular grocers in Manhattan is tough so when your local provison store somehow, some way, ends up with a stash of this, you take notice.
