Big 1L bottle via Secret Santa, pours a lightly hazy, dark brown with tons of fluffy, slightly off white head. Nose is big with bread and yeast, cracker, toffee, toast, hints of over dried raisins. Flavor follows, really just a malt bomb, toffee, mild brown sugar, bread crust, yeast, dark biscuit. Dry finish.

At a tasting, thanks, small stable creamy head, hazy copper color, yeasty, grainy flavor with some caramel, flavor of caramel and nuts with some jammines and a pleasant herbal bitterness. Pleasant and quite drinkable.

Tap at the brewery to wash the pork knuckle down, 3rd June 15. Pours rich, dark brown, aroma is malty, caramel, taste is much richer and fuller than other Alts I tried, lots of caramel, malt, toffee. Pretty good, and about as good as this style could reach I suspect.

Appearance: Dark, clear amber. Some light tan head.
Aroma: Malt, not sure much else. Slight yeast?
Taste: Dark malt, toasted. Smooth and easy drinking. Based on my experience I don’t recommend drinking a full bottle of this with an Indian lentils dinner due to enormous gas production. Almost lost a few friends the next day...
Bought: Trade with Erzengel - thanks!, 1000 ml
