Draft at the brauhaus. Clear amber brown with a medium off white head. Aroma of malt, bready notes, light caramel and light dark fruits. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Light bodied with light carbonation. Quite enjoyed this one, my favourite alt of my visit to Düsseldorf.

Old rating, on cask at Schumacher Oststr. Smooth nice malty beginning. Not as deep as their normal Alt. Round and smooth with a round and fresh malty dark body. Nice high level of bitterness, intense malty with a not too thin but nice refreshing bitter malty aftertaste.

Bottle. Clear amber sporting a big white head. Aroma of malts, nuts and a little bit of toffee. Taste of caramel, malts, toffee, nuts and herbs. A certain kind of subtle fruitiness lingers on. Moderate bitterness. Low to medium carbonation. Balanced. A good one.

1 l bottle from De Bierkoning, bottled in November 2015 (4 days old !). Clear, amber with a medium large, foamy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Sweetish, fruity-grassy, slightly resiny aroma of candied orange, apricot jam, caramel, hay and hints of pine. Sweetish, fruity-grassy taste of orange, caramel, nuts, hay and minimal hints of pine, followed by a short, medium bitter and grassy-hoppy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Superbly balanced, highly drinkable and refreshing Altbier. I expected the hops to shine even more but this beer remains true to its style. Very decent stuff.

1l Swing Top Bottle.

Bottle, thanks Erzengel, big long lasting bubbly head, hazy dark orange to red color, light malty aroma with just a spicy hint, malty caramely flavor ith a medium strong herbal bitterness, medium bodied and quite smooth. Nice and pleasant to drink.

1 l bottle from De Bierkoning, bottled on 15/9/2015 (three weeks old). Clear, orangeish amber with a medium large, creamy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Sweetish-malty aroma of raisins, nuts, caramel and brown sugar. Sweetish-malty taste of raisins, caramel, brown sugar and nuts, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy to oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite sweet but with enough hops in the finish. Highly quaffable and quite tasty, well-crafted.
