Description
110 years of Contreras in a 190 year old brewery. In 1818 Brewery Latte was founded as a typical farm-brewery. In the second half of the 19th century the company was led by Valère Latte who sold the brewery in 1898 to René Contreras. In 1920 René Contreras chose to sell his brewery to his nephew Marcel Contreras. it was Marcel who would transform the brewery into a modern 20th century company. He shaped the buildings as they currently still remain. In 1982 Marcel's son Willy became the sole manager of the brewery. At the start of the 21st century Ann Contreras, the only daughter of Willy Contreras, and her fiancée Frederik De Vrieze gradually took over the daily management of the brewery.

33cl bottle in the new K & S Beer & Tobacco store/tasting room in Brugge on Sunday 7th Feb 2016. Clean orange pour with a full white head. Hop lead with grass, grapefruit and other citrus notes overpowering any yeast or malty aromas. In the taste there is more balance as the malts assert themselves a little. Decent and a change from all the really heavy beers Belgium is usually known for (that and lager of course).

Big white head. Hazy amber body with lots of floaties. Fruity mealy aroma with herbal notes. Dry-sweet herbal mealy fruity taste. Mid-to-light body. Fizzy mealy mouthfeel. Mealy fruity aftertaste with herbal notes. Either my nose is screwed, or this is not really a very interesting beer. (0.33l bottle, from wine monopoly, Strømmen.)

330 ml. bottle. Purchased @ Willems & Zoon. BBF 02/01/2017. Hazy orange, creamy white head. Nose is grainy, sweetish stone fruits, caramel, dried peach, touch grapefruit, faint sweet white bread, touch nice hops, not bad; Taste is grainy, big esters, high carbonation, touch odd esters, candy sugar, touch other grains, a bit boozy, taste is a bit empty, high carbonation, finish is odd grains & plastic, taste feels a bit hollow and seems to lack some necessary fruitiness. A good amount of spices. Fount floral hops. Shows promise but doesn’t deliver on it. Decent but it feels like it could have been much more.

Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a compact, off-white head. Fruity aroma of orange peel, lemon, pale malt and dry hay. The flavor is also fruity with more oranges, grapefruit, fruity hops and grass. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a balanced bitterness. A fruity and malty IPA. Well-balanced and easy-drinking.
