Description
110 years of Contreras in a 190 year old brewery. In 1818 Brewery Latte was founded as a typical farm-brewery. In the second half of the 19th century the company was led by Valère Latte who sold the brewery in 1898 to René Contreras. In 1920 René Contreras chose to sell his brewery to his nephew Marcel Contreras. it was Marcel who would transform the brewery into a modern 20th century company. He shaped the buildings as they currently still remain. In 1982 Marcel's son Willy became the sole manager of the brewery. At the start of the 21st century Ann Contreras, the only daughter of Willy Contreras, and her fiancée Frederik De Vrieze gradually took over the daily management of the brewery.

Bottled. Hazy golden with some sediment. Orangey, lightlyflowery nose. Lightly yeasty with soft, lively mouthfeel and lots of fresh hops. Really bitter finish. Excellent stuff from an excellent brewer!

Bottled. Dark amber, brief head. Sweet and buttery with some lingonberries and almonds. Light bodied with soft, velvetty mouthfeel. Well balanced, and very drinkable for a Belgian ale.

Bottled. Clear dark amber. Buttery malt aroma. Sweet with soft, rich, delicate malt character but also a wealth of carbonization. Grassy and lightly roasty. Overcarbonated, but what a fantastic malt flavour!

A hazy amber beer with a light brown disappearing head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also notes of spices. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of yeast, but also citrus is present. The mouthfeel is dry.

Pale golden, good whitish rim. Little spicey nose (heather blossom), honey and nutmeg. In the taste, fine honeyish flavour and maybe coriander, neither very marked however. Light bodied, not fizzy but very well carbonated. Good, but not really great.

Bottle Frothy, off-white head - moslty diminishing. Spare lace. Amber, sparkling body. Toffee, herbs, medicine in the aroma. Medium to fully bodied. Averagily carbonation. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Lightly bitter (averagily long finish. Actually I don’t get why this is so superb.
