Description
110 years of Contreras in a 190 year old brewery. In 1818 Brewery Latte was founded as a typical farm-brewery. In the second half of the 19th century the company was led by Valère Latte who sold the brewery in 1898 to René Contreras. In 1920 René Contreras chose to sell his brewery to his nephew Marcel Contreras. it was Marcel who would transform the brewery into a modern 20th century company. He shaped the buildings as they currently still remain. In 1982 Marcel's son Willy became the sole manager of the brewery. At the start of the 21st century Ann Contreras, the only daughter of Willy Contreras, and her fiancée Frederik De Vrieze gradually took over the daily management of the brewery.

Bottle. Sweet, lightly spiced, and fruity aroma and flavor, with a pleasant bitterness in the flavor. Unclear pour, with some micro-floaties, and a white head leaving nice lacings. Medium to full body, and a fruity and slighlty spiced finish. A nice and enjoyable sweetish Belgian. (070914)

Bottle. (6.5%) Hazy, golden beer with an off-white head leaving nice lacings. Fruits, spice-notes, pale malt and a tiny note of vomit in the aroma. Fortunately, the vomit scent was weak and far in the background. Quite sweet in the mouth, with some alcohol and spices, as well as pale malt. Quite nice and quaffable. (070914)

Bottle: Poured a hazy copper color with a creamy lacing white head. The aroma is very spicy. The taste is soft malt with that hoppy pine tree like flavor, there is also some spice.

Bottle. Amber color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, malt sweet, sugar. Aroma is like the danish "hvidtøl". Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. Flavor is like a thin danish "hvidtøl". (310807)

Bottle at Moeder Lambic. Amber, thick beige head. Some toffee, more of an amber than a saison (it was down on the menu as a saison). But the hop on the finish is decent. Candy sugar in body. Fine, not exciting.
