Description
110 years of Contreras in a 190 year old brewery. In 1818 Brewery Latte was founded as a typical farm-brewery. In the second half of the 19th century the company was led by Valère Latte who sold the brewery in 1898 to René Contreras. In 1920 René Contreras chose to sell his brewery to his nephew Marcel Contreras. it was Marcel who would transform the brewery into a modern 20th century company. He shaped the buildings as they currently still remain. In 1982 Marcel's son Willy became the sole manager of the brewery. At the start of the 21st century Ann Contreras, the only daughter of Willy Contreras, and her fiancée Frederik De Vrieze gradually took over the daily management of the brewery.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazy brown body and a quickly fading off-white head. Aroma of raisins, banana, chocolate, smoke and sour mash. Taste is chocolate, sour mash, dried fruit and dark fruit. Watery and light mouthfeel.

(Bottle) Hazy amber colour with huge, beige head leaving traces of lacing. Fruity, malty nose with apricots, grapefruit, citrus peel, flowers and yeast. Fruity, malty taste with notes of citrus (grapefruit and orange), dried apricots and spicy, citrussy hops in the finish. Medium body, rather sweet. Nice and well made beer. In short: spicy citrus on solid malt foundation.

Draught: Poured a golden color with a white head. Aroma is fruit and malts. Taste is average at best with soft fruits and malts. Reminded me of a fresh can of natty light. This could be a good summertime drinking beer.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color with a white head. Aroma is skunky and harvest. Taste is a water grain. Not a lot of substance to talk about.

Bottled. Clear golden, minimal head. cardboardy nose with a bit of apples. Light bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Suffering from lack of hops that can hide the shortcomings in the malt department and the unclean fruitiness. A dull pale lager, though I’d guess it’s top feremented.

Bottled. Hazy golden, fair sized head. Aroms of oraneg and licorice. Dry and hoppy with clean mouthfeel. Strongotes of almondy yeast and black currant. Strikingly bitter finish.Whatr it lacks in malt depth is recovered by the wealth of hop and yeast flavours.

Bottle from Dranken Geers. Dark brown with lasting dark beige head. Belgian yeast and malt aroma. Good dry mlat fruit flavour in mouth, with a decent mix of carbonation and hop on finish. a little bit syrupy on aroma, but dries out in mouth and is really a very drinkable dubbel. Good.
