(Bottle) Golden colour with brief, foamy, white head. Malty nose with bread, grass, coriander, ginger, a touch of juniper, banana and doughy wheat. Malty, fruity taste with bread, ginger, banana, yeast, some syrup, juniper and a finish with low bitterness. Medium body, with just a touch of sweetness. Interesting and well balanced, but doesn’t really stand out. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle - Ruby pour with an off-white head - moderately tart nose, with notes of tobacco, tart raspberry, balsamic vinegar, cranberry, underlying brown sugar sweetness - medium body, well-masked alcohol - flavor is less complex than the atoms suggests, but pleasant notes of funky cranberry, red wine, moderate acidity - tart finish, with some red grape tannic character.

0.5 l bottle from ’Vormann Brauerei’, 10% abv, bottled in 2014, cellared for more than two years. Clear, very dark reddish brown with a thin, dense, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, smoky, moderately roasty and a little sourish aroma of caramel, smoked ham, milk chocolate, some licorice and hints of dark fruits. Sweetish-malty, slighty sour, moderately roasty, quite smoky and a bit fruity taste of caramel, smoked ham, blackcurrant, raisins, ash, milk chocolate and some licorice, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, quite roasty, smoky and tartish-dry finish. Over medium-bodied, minimally astringent and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Great balance between sweet, sour and smoked flavours, doesn’t feel like 10% at all. Good!
