Description
On a small abandoned farm back in 2002 William Frank and Else Birk started a small brew house focusing on quality and good craftsmanship. The brewery was not far from where the Grauballe man (a bog body that was uncovered in 1952 from a peat bog) was found - hence the name Grauballe Bryghus.

Grauballe Bryghus was in these premises until the year 2013. By then it had grown so big that it was time to move to larger premises where it is today.

66 cL bottle. Pours black with a light brown head, sadly not lasting. Sweet, roasted malt aroma, slight liqourice and chemical (paint) notes. Flavour is dry malty, slight bitter with a citric twist. Slight coffee note in the finish. Citric/bitter throughout. Nice but doesn’t really take off.

Draught at KØ07. Hazy orange colour. Nice and big, stable, creamy head. Good mouthfeel, creamy like a rye beer. Peppery flavour, some alcohol. The flavour is bready and still reminds me of a rye beer. Perhaps a rye bock.
