(Bottle) Clear reddish dark brown with thin tan head. Lovely aroma of pine and citrus. Medium body, smooth creamy carbonation. The hops are dominant in the taste from the start to the good long bitter finish. Some malty and nutty notes do valiant battle with the hops. A pleasant and unusual hop driven beer.

Bottle. Dark brown with a beige head that’s soon less than a coat. Aroma of lychees, pineapple, grapefruit, walnut oil, mocha. Silky mouthfeel, lowish carbonation. Fudgy sweetness, lots of tropical fruit - dunno whether the pineapple really works - citrus gets a bit lost, as do the nuts. Pine needles come through at the finish. Bitterness struggles through the sweetness and arrives a bit dull. Lots of good things but they’re just bumping into each other.

Bottle bought in Brisbane, August 2014. Amber with a medium head. A relaxed one with hops, grapefruit and some mango. Also some notes of hay. Soft and easy to drink.

Bottle bought in Brisbane, August 2014. Black with a small tan head. A bit sweet with roasted malt, chocolate and some coffee. The finish was dry and with some bitterness. A soft and east to drink one. A good one.

Pours amber with a large head.Nose shows sweet malt, cookie dough notes, an apple cider character and stale grain. Better than this description suggests though.Flavours mirror the aroma, but without the apple cider note. Very much and English pale ale rather than American.Carbonation is too aggressive.

From a 500ml bottle on 19/6/2014. Pours a clear amber with a small head. Has a light sweet fruity aroma. It starts out with some biscuity malt, which is followed by quite a bit of sweet citrus fruit (particularly orange). It finishes with a medium, slightly sharp, lingering bitterness. Has a medium body and relatively fizzy carbonation. Solid if not particularly exciting.

Craft Clerkenwell. Bottle thanks to big Dave’s antipodean haul. Cheers mate. Opaque black brown beer, good tan head. Palate is light and airy. Semi dry. Slightly tangy dark malts. Whisper of candy fruits and violets. Light dry finish. Interesting if a bit thin.

Bottle thanks to Dave.it pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The nose is rich, chocolate, treacle, coffee, some roast and oiliness. The taste is roasted malt, toast, coffee, earth, some acidity, pepper and light bitterness. Lightish body and moderate carbonation. Smells rather nice, but unfortunately a bit thin for my liking. Decent enough though.

Bottle split at Craft Clerko, big thanks to Dave Wingman Willis, 27/01/14. Mid black with a decent tan head. Nose is cocoa, sweet notes, light plastic, earthy. Taste comprises chocolate, vanilla, light roast. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying closure. Ok stout, nothing to get overly excited about though, easy drinking stuff.

(Botte) Clear coppery amber with slight loose head. Litte aroma - toffee, bread, hints of apples. Light body, quite fizzy carbonation. Taste is a little thin. It is sweet, but not cloyingly so, caramel with some dark chocolate notes, and very little else going on. Easy drinking but pretty uninspiring.
