First rating - 30/10/2013. Cask at the Square Bottle (JDW), Chester. RB score 7/3/8/4/16 (3.8) Light amber with a moderate white head. Lots of pine, grapefruit and lemon with sweet mango behind, before an assertive bitterness in the finish. Purity generally seem to make decent beers, and this is a cracking US-style pale ale that I enjoyed even more the more I drank it. Second rating - 28/11/2014. From the brewer’s own stand at the Good Food Show, Birmingham NEC. RB score 9/3/9/5/18. Yes! A winner! Melon, mango and all things tropical up front in abindant quantities with some pine coming along in the aftertaste. Very, very smooth - a cuddly kind of mouthfeel. THis is fantastic. More please,, Mr Purity. Thankyou very much. Yes, it’s still fabulous. Marvellous ! Yes! YES! YEEESSS! Overall rating is the average of all ratings.

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Golden amber with a loose cream head; aroma of pineapple and grapefruit; soft, soapy texture, with some tropical fruit flavours, and ahoney sweetness; then a lasting, pleasant, woody, bitterness. Really good.

Cask at the Willow Walk, 28/10/13. Clear golden amber with a moderately sized off white head. Nose is caramel malt, light hoppage, grass, hint of grapefruit, bitter orange. Taste comprises citric hops, light grapefruit notes, orange pith, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, slightly dry climax with subtle hop bitterness. Decent offering, one of the better beers of the festival for me.
