From cask at Standing Order. Pours clear and golden orange with a small orange glare and lacing white head. Mild spiced and butterish aroma. Citric and hoppy flavour with a distinct bitterness coming through. Smooth finish with a mild acidic note.

Cask, Lion, Liverpool. Golden colour with a lingering creamy white head and decent lacing. Clean, citrus flavour and cracking hops. A really pleasant surprise and definitely sessionable. There’s Gold in them hills !

Lots of fresh hoppy, leafy character going on that was really enjoyable and a moderately bitter finish, but too much about hops and the rest of the beer is forgotten about.

500ml bottle from Tesco, Ashford, Kent. Copper with a thin ring of white head; rich malt aroma; quite lively in the mouth with a sweet blackberry fruitiness, and a dry and nicely bitter finish. Very pleasant.

500ml bottle from Tescos, Alfreton. Amber with a ring of white head; lots of fresh bitter hop aroma with a touch of citrus; refreshing lemony flavour, light without being thin, then honeyed sweetness; pleasantly gentle bitter finish with grapefruit flavours. Lacking the strength of finish I was expecting, but very drinkable nonetheless.

Cask, 3.8% at GBBF08. Hazy golden colour. OK fruity flavour. Low to medium bitterness. Slightly boring, but OK fruitiness.

Cask at GBBF 08 ... Golden ... light hop nose ... dry fruity hops ... decent enough but not exciting.

Bottle from Tesco. Amber coloured with a decent, off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, floral hops and a hint of caramel. Flavour had some red fruit, chewy malt and a steely edge (in a positive way), with a long bitter finish. Excellent.

Bottle from Tesco. Golden with a decent, but short-lived off-white head and slight carbonation. Grassy hop, slightly sweet fruity aroma. Easy drinking, with some chewy malt, summer fruits and citrus hops, finishing off nice and bitter. Very good.

Cask @ Roebuck, London. Golden color, short head. Bitter. I have something written down on a note, but cant decipher it. At least it ends with: ’... in a british way’. Well, that is what I can say about almost all the brews I tasted in London this weekend :-)
