Bottled (BB 10/2005)
Dark ruby color, good tanned head. Aroma has oak, hops, licorice and toffee - it’s even slightly earthy. Medium to full-bodied, bitter woody flavor. Some licorice hints. A bit similar to some Fullers (1845 etc).

[Cask at Cockney Pub, Århus] A hazy yellow beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of yeast and grapefruit. The flavor is cask flat with notes of esters and grapefruit, leading to a dry bitter and flowery end. Nice summer beer.

Cask conditioned at NERAX 4/28/2005
Dark copper colored beer, small, foamy white head, low retention (a good thing). Light alcohol (or perhaps very dry ester) notes in the aroma, some hints of bananas and soft, caramelly malt. Flavor of light cardboard, grainy malt, rather toasty on the finish. Medium body. No diacetyl noticed.

Cask - no carbonation - highly sweet aroma, plums and grapes in the mix - flavors of figs, prunes, raisins - a near cloying sweetness isn’t balanced well enough by the minor hop bitterness - alcohol is very pronouced.

Amber red colour, Rich head. Fruity malt-aroma with a touch of berries. Smooth, somewhat nutty, malt flavour. Nice, dry finish where the alcohol add some extra bite.

Pour is a deep red with no head. Aroma is fruity and malty. Flavor is plum and prune with a hint of nutmeg. Lots of subtle things going on with this brew. Lots of malts and fruit flavors to recomend this brew.
