[Cask at the Allied Arms, Reading.] A golden amber pour with a loose white head; weak tropical fruit aroma; rather thin with some tropical fruit and orange. A light summery beer.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Gluten Free. Amber gold colour, white foam head leaving lacing and musty aroma with citrus, earth, hops. Taste is malt, grain, fruit, spicy, citrusy, with earthy hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying tangy bitter finish. Quite OK.

1/6/2026. Cask at the Greyhound, Ipswich. Nice colour. Mango gelato aroma. Very dry. Decent bitterness. Low carbonation. Likeable. Barman recommended this was served with a lemonade top. I declined, though it would have added a bit more life to it.

A bottle purchased online from Beers of Europe and drunk at Dad’s while home on holiday. Aroma: yeasty. Appearance: beautiful clear darkest of dark brown, 2-3mm. light tan head dissipating rapidly. Palate: medium-bodied and quite dry on the tongue, average carbonation; the finish is long and lingering and quite boozy at this ABV. Taste: lightly sweet, plenty of almond; nice beer, would like to try it draught. A very handsome pint, beautiful appearance.

Eurovision Drinks With Tenuous Links Beer#2 of 3. 'Ghost' was a 2016 entry by Germany. I'm doubling the ghost with this one, which has a decent body, compared with its regular version, but not double the taste. A deeper golden colour, it has a hoppy stated pale ale aroma, but struggles in the flavour department. It's on to Bulgaria's entry whilst drinking this one.

Tessie Cohen bottle. Near clear gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, getting on for semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light smooth malts, a modest sweetness. Esters! Doesn't belong, not welcome. Light pine, mild juicy citrus and stone fruit hops. A mild bitterness. Light finish. It's not detestable but, if Adnams are serious about doing craft, this is not good enough, not by a long chalk.
