Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Light gold, clear with a thin white head. It looks so harmless! Ammonia in the aroma with caramel and some TCP. Sweet taste with some sulphurous bitter notes, letting to a hoppy bitter finish. A nicely crafted old-fashioned UK IPA.

Clear chestnut (ruby) brown with a frothy off-white head and a fruit malt aroma, very slightly nutty. Light bodied and fruity with slightly roasted malt notes and a hint of bitterness in the finish

440ml Can from Everyman's Wines. Pours dark, good espresso head. Aroma brings sweet lactose, milk chocolate, coffee, subtle roast. Taste continues in a similar fashion, quite smooth on the palate with distinctly sweet profile, coffee biscuits, milk chocolate, lactose, distant caramel, medium to full body. Decent.

440ml can from Everyman's Wines. Pours a misty yellow, small white head. Aroma is sweet, bubblegummy, pear drops perhaps. Continues to taste somewhat, juicy with fruity sweet shop flavours coming through, nice carbonation, soft bitterness. Presented well.

The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a smooth, grainy, gluey, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Well now then, this is a lovely creamy stout. Pours near black with a creamy off-white head, and a delicious aroma of roasted malt with touches of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Medium to full bodied, creamy and smooth, with roasted malt, dark fruits, coffee and chocolate in the mix, a touch of vanilla and a hint of liquorice, with a satisfying dry bitterness
