In the mouth in is somewhere between bitter and sweet, with traditional hops and sweet malts. Ginger and spice gradually become evident as well. Finish is a little more sweet. This is reasonable – a straightforward simple beer.

Handpull cask at the King's Head, Leicester. Very pale gold, clear with a thin white head. Tropical fruit and grapefruit with melted butter in the nose. Tastes a bit better, with sweetness on the front end and some decent if mild hop bitterness near the finish. Light body, soft carbonation. A little bit of a throwback to the buttery goldes of yore but it has enough redeeming qualities.
