Cask handpull at Royal Oak, Borough. Red copper colour with bubbly beige head. Distinctive Harvey’s yeast with some caramel. Good in mouth iwth yeasty, hoppy biting finish. Good flavour for a 3.5% beer. Just very interesting

Cask @ Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. Pours an amber colour with a small white head. Fruity floral aroma. Fruity flavor with some hoppiness. Long fruity finish.

Cask at ’The Harp’ Covent Garden, London 16-03-06. An excellent red/brown session bitter, with great hoppy and nice balanced bitterness. Would happily neck this all day.

Aged sample Slightly hazy orange-amber; small transparant head. Very nutty, oxydized nose with stale portwine aroma. Sweet, malty, nutflour; finish is a little bitter - both (old) hops and coloured malts. Oily, syrupy, walnuts in the aftertaste. I’d have expected less oxydation from a 3-yr old 8.1 ABV beer.

Bottle. 2001 version. Creamy light brown fair mostly deminishing head. Black colour. Very powerfull and complex aroma. I sensed rasin, vaniolla and grass. Powerfull good flavor of chocolate caramel and licorice. Very wine-like beer. Fantastic palate.

275ml bottle from Cask & Glass, Tonbridge. Black with brown touches, beige head. Lots of toffee/caramel on aroma. Some sourness in mouth with more toffee on the end. Some camp coffee. Yeah its a bit of fun, but isn’t that great

Bottle. Deep ruby, thin beige head. Smells like my dad`s home brew brown ale from 20 years ago. Yeasty dry malt aroma with some oilyness. Some nuttiness and caramel. Nice caramel in mouth and some dryish finish. Fine

Cask gravity at Dover BF 06. Dark reddish brown with beige head. Really quite pleasant if slightly sticky sweet, quite a meaty aroma with lots of orange. Nice dry hop finish and some boiled sweet. Better on the second half pint

500ml bottle from Cask & Glass in Tonbridge. Now this I like. Copper with thin white head. Beautiful caramel/yeast/hop aroma. Just the essence of an English ale. 5.5% beer but easy drinking. Sweet brown sugar and orange with bready yeast. Starts sweet in mouth, then caramel then perfect bitterness. Will definitely buy a 2nd and 3rd bottle. Highly enjoyable and remarkably well made. 4.2/5

(Bottle 27,5 cl) Completely opaque, black beer with a small, brownish head. Vinous, port-like nose. Very full and rich body with plenty of malt. Accents of burned malt with a coffeeish touch and some fruity notes (not quite what you’d expect in a stout). And the burned malts don’t leave the usual, ashy bitterness which is a positive thing in my book. 260106
