When we started we were (and still are) huge fans of hops and there just weren't enough brewers in the UK using them, even though that sounds ridiculous in today's beer world. So, rather than moaning into our beer, we thought we'd do something about it and brew some of our own! Over time as the beer scene evolved, there was less need for our style of hoppy beers since everyone was brewing with them so we evolved too and widened our style portfolio.
Still great. Cherries faded. Mild red wine barrel.

30/8/2022. Can from Beer Central, Sheffield. Can blew well before its bb date but fortunately didn't break the seal. Poured slightly murky very dark brown with minimal head. Aroma of lime, passionfruit, dark rum, orange, light roasting, chocolate, ashy woody edge. Moderate sweetness, big dose of lemon and lime tartness. Medium body, very low carbonation. Gently boozy but didn't give any real suggestion that it was 13.7%. Drying tart fruit finish. Long lingering passionfruit and lime. Enjoyed it, but it was quite an enigma.

Can. Beer Central Sheffield. Mostly clear pale gold. Slim leggy white head. Nose has sweet cereal. Pithy citrus. Bit of a sweet funk thing going on, bizarrely. Taste has a grainy sweetness with a bosh of lime and orange peel bitterness. Drinks pretty easy despite that funk thing. Lingering bitterness to finish.

High pressure can, but not as bad as the others. Dark murky brown, soda carbonation. Smells sour, malty, strong, some vinegar. Nice thickness, light carbonation, slight pucker. Tastes weirdly malty sour, lots of rum. Pretty boozy, this one. Not my fav.

Gravity cask at the 31st Ealing Beer Festival, Walpole Park, 15/07/22. Very lightly hazed golden with a white cap. Nose is hay bale, citric zest, dusty hops, light funk. Taste comprises lemon rind, herb, hedgerow, light cheesy presence, grains, tangy citric zest. Medium plus bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Comes over a little muddled ... not terrible but couldn't drink much ... has this strange overriding light cheesy wotsit presence.

High pressure can, pours very dark brown with a sliver off-white head. Smells sour, little bit of wine, tart cherry. Good body, fairly light for the ABV, bit boozy, slight pucker. Taste is sour, some deep cherry flavour, slight bitter finish, some wine. Sharp and astringent at first, but linger is like a very nice red wine, with more cherries and tartness. Fun stuff!

Slight gusher. Black, soda carbonation and then flat. Smells sour, honey, whisky. Body is dangerously easy, near flat. Sour but only tiny bit pucker, honey really softens it. Some whisky, raspberries are hidden mostly. Great balance, surprisingly tasty.

Can. Beer Central Sheffield. Clear cola brown. Slimmest ring of beige. Nose has heather honey. Dark malt. Touch of berry fruit. Taste is dark fruit sourness. Some dryness. Medium body well belies the ABV. Fine carbonation. Tart and dry finish. Big hitter drinks easy enough, albeit not too complex.
